Douglas Schmidt '81
Director
Doug is a Financial Advisor at Robert W. Baird & Company, where he specializes in addressing the complex financial planning and investment needs of affluent families. Before joining Baird in 2008, he served at William Blair & Company as an Investment Banker and Financial Advisor; prior to that he led a team at Westpac Banking Corporation overseeing global banking relationships with Fortune 500 corporations throughout the Midwest.
He received his A.B. in Economics in 1981 and his M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Chicago in 1991. He was a member of Dial Lodge and, from time to time, of the wrestling team. Doug is a Past President of the Princeton Club of Chicago and has served three terms on the Alumni Council, chairing two committees there.
A resident of the Chicago area since 1985, Doug has been involved with the Golden Apple Foundation, the Field Museum, the CSO, and the Art Institute. Having moved from Streeterville to Glenview in 2020, he is enjoying his garden very much but also finds that he is missing the Downtown vibe.
