Calling all Princeton alumni in the Chicago area, especially those in the legal field (or legal adjacent): Come meet Ramona Romero, General Counsel at Princeton, on October 1st, at 5pm, at the Law Offices of Goldberg Kohn. We will have a short introduction from Ms. Romero, hear about her personal background and professional pathway, and then open the evening for discussion. If you’re curious about managing the legal department in an institution of higher learning in current times, Ms. Romero's role at Princeton, how being a government lawyer differs from private practice, or Ms. Romero's impact on federal judicial appointments during the Obama administration, this gathering is for you!

Ramona Romero
VP & General Counsel,
Princeton University

Ms. Romero joined Princeton’s senior leadership team in December 2014 after serving as the general counsel of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, a position to which she was nominated by President Obama and confirmed by the U.S. Senate. Earlier in her career, Ms. Romero worked at E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company in a variety of legal roles, and as a commercial, white collar and government contracts litigator at Crowell & Moring LLP in Washington, D.C. She is a former National President of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA), and the founder of the HNBA’s Latina Commission. She recently received the American Bar Association’s Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Award. An immigrant from the Dominican Republic, throughout her career, Ms. Romero has been a strong and prominent advocate for an inclusive legal profession and access to justice. She holds a B.A. from Barnard College and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
