Danielle Hamilton '07

Danielle Hamilton is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Law and Director of the Carter G. Phillips Center for Supreme Court and Appellate Advocacy Center at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. Before Northwestern, Professor Hamilton represented civil rights plaintiffs in a wide range of cases including excessive force, protestors of police brutality, sexual assault by law enforcement, and wrongful convictions. She has a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. in Comparative Literature from Princeton University. Her main pro bono commitment is mentoring Black high school, college, and law students through the academic admissions process and legal field. Professor Hamilton is the proud granddaughter of Shirley and daughter of Sharmain, émigrés from Belize. She is the first lawyer in her family.
