The Masterclass on Angel Investing will be led by PAA Co-Chairs Rob Wolk '91 and Laurence Latimer *01 and will cover the basics of angel investing, including:
Day 1. Background on early-stage investing, screening companies, and diligence.
Day 2. Mock pitches from real CEOs of venture-backed start-ups.
Day 3. Making an investment. What happens after the investment is made.
This is designed for anyone with an interest in early stage investing. Whether you have made some investments and want to brush up or are totally new to angel investing, this masterclass is for you!

Laurence Latimer *01
Laurence is co-founder and CEO of Dinara, a startup that is reimagining enterprise financial services for crypto businesses. Laurence built a career identifying, building, and scaling new businesses and led growth initiatives and new market entry in the U.S., Asia, Latin America, and Sub-Saharan Africa. He spent over four years at SunGard (acquired by FIS) where, in his last role, Laurence was GM of a $20M revenue enterprise software and data solutions business serving capital markets firms across the Americas. He launched in two countries and was responsible for a global workforce in the US, Brazil, Hong Kong, India, and Tunisia. Earlier in his career, Laurence held senior product, operations, and business roles at several venture-backed and bootstrapped startups. He began his post-graduate career as a consultant at McKinsey & Company. Laurence is a co-founder and co-chair of the Princeton Alumni Angels of Greater NY, and an advisor to the Catalytic Impact Foundation. In addition, he has been an angel investor for over ten years and advises several early-stage startups. Laurence earned a master’s degree from Princeton University's School of Public and International Affairs where he was a public policy and international affairs fellow and a bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University. He was raised and currently resides in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and two sons. Laurence is a Fellow of the 2019 class of the Aspen Finance Leaders Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
Robert Wolk ‘91
Rob serves as the Board Chair at the Catalytic Impact Foundation (CIF), an impact investing group focused on investing in innovative startups that address unmet healthcare needs. He is also a founder and Co-Chair of Princeton Alumni Angels (PAA), one of the largest and most active alumni investing groups. Between CIF and PAA, Rob has been involved in investments in over 100 early-stage companies since 2018. Previously Rob was a Partner and Managing Director at the Carlyle Group in Hong Kong, in charge of Carlyle’s technology, telecom, and media buyout and growth capital investments across Asia, and an Executive Director in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs in London and Hong Kong, where he played a leadership role building Goldman’s mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and privatization practices in Europe and Asia.
Rob is the USA Board Chair of Amref Health Africa, the largest healthcare NGO in Africa and the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Volunteers of America – Greater NY. He previously served as a member of the Board of Trustees at the Trinity School in New York and on the Alumni Council Executive Committee at Princeton. Rob serves as an Instructor in the National Science Foundation Innovation Corps (I-Corps) Northeast Hub based at Princeton University and as an advisor and mentor to several early-stage companies and founders. He currently serves as President of the Princeton Association of New York City (PANYC) and on the Friends of Princeton Internships in Civic Service (PICS) Board and the Princeton in Africa Board. Rob received an A.B. in Political Science from Princeton and an M.Phil. in International Relations from Cambridge University.
