titanic-survey-expedition-2021__paul-boyd_009.1TOUR A TITANIC-VISITING SUBMERSIBLE
- NOV 19 or 20, 2021

OceanGate Expeditions' innovative crewed submersible, Titan, used for charter and scientific exploration, will be docking in Lake Forest!

Princetonians Stockton Rush III ’84, CEO and Founder of OceanGate, Wendy Rush ‘84, President of OceanGate Foundation, and David Waud '69, Mission Specialist, are hoping to meet fellow alums and are holding spots at a small reception to be held at the Gorton Community Center in Lake Forest on the evenings of November 19th and 20th, 2021.

This private event has been put together by Stockton, CEO and Founder of OceanGate Expeditions, a submersible expeditions company that provides rare opportunities to explore and document areas of the seafloor, including regions of the RMS Titanic. Joining him will be PH Nargeolet, the world's most experienced Titanic diver, and David, our Lake Forest local host alum, both of whom participated in this year's expedition, as well as other members of the expedition team.

Give them a tiger welcome and take advantage of a unique opportunity to see the submersible Titan up-close and hear first-hand accounts of exploring the Titantic, 3,800m (12,800 ft) below the surface of the North Atlantic.

Attendees will have the opportunity to board Titan for a short, simulated dive experience, see a presentation on OceanGate's longer term objectives, and view imagery from those dives.

PH, former French naval commander, pilot of the French submersible Nautile, and leader of six expeditions to the Titanic, came out with OceanGate for the entire 6-week expedition and was a co-pilot on Titan. PH will discuss the changes he has seen in the wreck over the course of his many dives, the first of which was in 1987.

  • Experience a virtual dive onboard Titan and watch never-before-seen videos and images from the OceanGate Expeditions dives on the Titanic wreck site.

  • Hear from content experts, marine biologists, veteran Titanic divers, and Mission Specialists at a keynote presentation inside the John and Nancy Hughes Theatre, discussing the findings from this year's expedition.

  • Board Titan, the innovative 5-crewed carbon fiber and titanium submersible which will be parked outside under the covered porte cochere.

  • Enjoy drinks and appetizers and meet some of the expedition team inside Gorton's beautiful, heated Solarium.

Registration is required and all attendees must be vaccinated. Due to this restriction, only those over the age of 12 will be admitted to the event.
