DINNER WITH DUANY '72 - CHICAGO HUMANITIES FEST - NOVEMBER 1, 2015

Please join us for this special opportunity with architect Andres Duany '72 immediately following his lecture on "Democratic Cities."

Architect Andres Duany '72, a leader in New Urbanism, has graciously agreed to join the Princeton Club of Chicago for dinner immediately following his lecture on "Democratic Cities."  Please RSVP via the link below if you would like to attend the dinner.

The talk, which is part of the Chicago Humanities Festival, will be from 6-7 p.m. at the Art Institute of Chicago Fullerton Auditorium, 111 S. Michigan Avenue (at Adams).

Born in Cuba, raised in Spain, and currently practicing architecture in the U.S., Andres Duany ’72 will discuss new ideas for city planning including his latest passion, lean urbanism.  New Urbanism is like the town hall of democratic politics: a mixed-use, mixed-income community whose members find common ground just by getting out of their cars and hanging out or walking in the streets.  Yet one of the visionaries behind this way of living says democracies haven't been all that good at giving rise to equitable cities.  Come hear Mr. Duany discuss this relevant issue during his lecture at the CHF and then take part in a small group discussion over dinner.

Please note:

If you wish to attend the lecture prior to dinner, you need to order a ticket directly from the Chicago Humanities Festival at  www.chicagohumanities.org or by phone at 312-494-9509 (M-F, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.).  Some programs do sell out, so be sure to order your lecture ticket now!
